Domestic Drone Usage Drones, also known as UAVs(unmanned aerial vehicles) are now gaining recognition in the United States. Since their invention they have gone mainstream. The variety of drones have become important for many uses. The increasing use of drones has lead to controversy in major issues such as privacy and interference in the airspace and drone accidents. The usage of unmanned aircraft have impacted us in both positive and negative ways. Drones can be effectively used in both civilian and commercial use. For example they can fly for at least thirty hours without needed to land. In addition to this, a publication written by the FAA(Federal Air Administration), it estimates within twenty years(2010-2030) we will have at least 30,000 drones in U.S. airspace. In an introductory piece written by Martin Mckown from the Boston University of Law he discusses that UAVs offer the advantage where it ranges from various market growth where the UAV industry will trigger the economy on local, national, and global sales.On the positive, the economy is one of the main reasons why drones are being effectively used. Mckown discusses that “A prediction by aviation experts predict that UAV technology from worldwide expenditures will excel to at least $80 million over the next decade”(76). At the same time this explains how the UAV industry will start more than 100,000 jobs in the United States as expected from the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems during that period.
