In recent years vaporizers have become widely popular amongst the electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) market. The e-cigarettes are a battery-powered electronic nicotine delivery device, designed by some companies to also resemble a cigarette. It is designed to deliver nicotine to the respiratory system without the combustion of tobacco (Hon, et al., 2005). However, are these trendy devices beneficial or harmful to society? Consequently, this product may be a low-risk substitute for factory made cigarettes, without the inhalation of the harmful toxins. (should this go at the end)

Nicotine is not viewed as a dangerous substance in comparison to other classified drugs, however it is one of the leading substances that has proven to cause more deaths in comparison to cocaine and amphetamines etc. (Dani and Harris, 2005). A very recognized psychologist Sigmund Freud, developed a theory of psychoanalysis that stressed the importance of insight in changing ones behaviours. However, himself he was unable to stop smoking even after most of his jaw had been removed due to cancer. This shows that it is a very strong habit that cannot be given up as easily (Brecher, 1972).
