It feels like she is trying to impart on the reader that in this day and age, that we have a new option for grieving for a lost one. That whether it is by changing you individual Facebook profile picture to include you and the lost one, or going to their Facebook page and posting on their wall a memory of the fun times you both had together. Even after Casey’s Facebook page was memorialized, her friends continued to post things. Like for Christmas many of them would go there and post a Merry Christmas to her and on the 17th of every month so far, the postings would spike. One of Casey’s friends notes that she was drinking a juice box wine and that he made her think of Casey and how much she missed her. I believe that the addition of the dialogue in this case gives more meaning to the idea that grieving through the use of Facebook is changing how we view it. Near the beginning of the essay, Stone describes the scene of the accident. The emphasis on the fact that the van was barreling down the street, leads us to the conclusion that there was no escape for the young lady. If there was anything that could have been added to this, it would have been at the beginning. Perhaps we could have known what Casey was doing in the resort town. Perhaps in the second paragraph when Stone tells us of receiving the phone call from Kelsey. Maybe we could have gotten a little for information on Kelsey, and about her friendship with Casey For me the last sentence does not fit the tone of the essay. The whole thing is about the loss of a loved one and how people deal with it through using Facebook. I would think that reflecting more on Casey, and how Facebook is a new way for us to grieve would have been better way to end
