“In Girl Scouts, leadership isn’t just about building future leaders—it’s about building girl leaders for today” (Kathy Cloninger). The mission of Girl Scouts of America is not just for the Girls future, but for their community and family to come together and realize what needs to be done in the world. Girl Scouts guide the girls to become better versions of themselves and maybe even the best for their futures. They teach them responsibility, respect, courage, confidence, and they help the girls find themselves and what they want to be. This organization has many spectacular qualities. An example of a famous supporter is Taylor Swift. Taylor is an alumni of the Girl Scouts in which she learned an immense amount of knowledge. “No matter how you may feel about Swift’s juvenile sensibilities, she learned a thing or two about philanthropy from the Girl Scouts, and she has whipped out her checkbook on numerous occasions to lend generous support to a range of good causes including children’s literacy, music education, disaster recovery and cancer research. ” (Matt Hickman 9). This celebrity supports the foundation because of what it taught her. Another example of a famous supporter is Hillary Clinton. “And that reminds me of how much I benefited from my years associated with Girl Scouts… the Girl Scouts not only taught me great songs that I still sing, but lifelong lessons about leadership and the value of public service and friendships…” ( Matt Hickman 5). The importance of this is to prove that Girl Scouts have a positive impact on its attendees. For example, Taylor Swift and Hillary Clinton both being apart of the Girl Scouts and growing up to me famous while having a huge impact on the world. These are two examples out of the many that should promote the support of the Girl Scouts organization.
