Deportation has and will continue to not only take a toll on the economy, but also lead to declination in the private-sectors. Deportation can make or break an economy. Everyone has a chance in life to live their life and not have to worry about when they must go back to their native land.
More than 11 million immigrants live in the U.S. illegally. If the Government continues to deport more people it will cost between $400-600 billion (Kiersz). In 1996 the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act(IIRIRA) re-established the deportation law, stating that any immigrant who crosses the border illegally won’t have to go see an Immigration Judge they will go back to their home land (The current record on deportation). Establishing a job first can be hard just coming to America, by keeping the criminals with high acts of crime and having them keep a job that someone more qualified can have. By deporting just anyone that isn’t native-born in America will lower the chances of anyone starting a fresh new life. George Santayana once said “those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.” If America decides to keep going down the road we are heading down right now, America is indeed tended to repeat the mistakes George W. Bush did. George W. Bush “returned” many immigrants back to their homeland (Caplan-Bricker). Between 2001 and 2008, there were 8.3 million of people sent back, and only 2 million “removals” (Caplan-Bricker). Having two Presidents deport 4.5 million people in a short time starts to utilize the struggles America has with the government. The U.S. wanted to build a wall to stop other immigrants coming into the U.S. Learning from past mistakes that the government has made can help us in the future to help make the economy better and by deporting the high act criminals instead of common illegal
