Liberal Arts are a needed facet that should be sustained as a general education requirement in the education system. Liberal Arts provide students valuable skills such as critical and proactive thinking that will help in supporting their majors; create more opportunities for their future that enables students to increase the overall happiness in their lifetime and careers; and finally, push students forward into becoming better citizens and creating an enduring society.

Other disciplines teach specific skills or trades however, they are only preparing for singular job. Companies need workers with a broad range of skills and Liberal Arts majors can offer an alternative to the norm with creativity and a broader understanding of the world around them compared to the skill sets that are offered by people that are trained in more specialized disciplines. In the current job market employers value those skills when considering a accepting an applicant. Liberal Arts do not offer students a skill set that are directly transferable to a job, instead it prepares students to be employed a variety of different fields which call upon the broad skillsets of a liberal arts education. Liberal Arts education provides students the benefit of being more desirable to potential employers as they can think proactively, and communicate effectively. These valuable skills gained from Liberal Arts courses lead to flexibility in the workplace, since these courses enable an individual to be more easily and willing to collaborate with each other on both projects and
