Several teachers now days are not much older than high school students and feel more comfortable teaching around them. Most teachers aren't mature enough and don’t set the best examples for high school students. Therefore, it’s best if teachers keep their personal life to themselves along with students. First off, there are several teachers who are crossing boundaries with high school students on Facebook such as commenting, sexting, and videoing inappropriate things on Facebook that is costing them to lose their job as a teacher. In today’s world, teachers all around the world are making horrible decisions that is costing them terrible consequences. Most teachers have commented things on a students profile such as calling them sexy and trying to private message them very inappropriate things. “On Facebook, flirting is encouraged, “she said.” You're encouraged to post your relationship status. “Maintaining a respectable image is incredibly important as a teacher. And let’s be honest, social media is a liability. Even the most conscious social networkers are bound to post something or share something that could cause controversy. That’s why many educators say no to student interaction on social media”(Wolfore, 1). Teachers need to be educating their students with school work not worrying about being friends with them on Facebook.They can be friends with students after they graduate it shouldn't be a teachers first priority to be friends with the high school students, teaching should be their first priority.
