Monoamniotic Monochorionic Twins Have you ever been pregnant? Or have you ever had a child? Imagine if you were expecting a child who had a 50% chance of dying. How would you feel? Monoamniotic twin pregnancies are rare, high risk, pregnancies where twin fetuses share the same amniotic sac and placenta, but have different umbilical cords. “The survival rate of Mono Mono twins is 50%.”(Monochorionic Monoamniotic Twins). The Mono Mono twins were born on May 9th, 2014 in Ohio to Sarah and Bill Thistlethwaite who are both of Ohio. These twins were born at 33 weeks and they were holding hands. There names are Jenna and Jillian. Jenna was born at 4 pounds 2 ounces and a minute later Jillian was born at 3 pounds 13 ounces.(Rare set of Mono Mono twins go home in time for fathers day) After birth the twins spent a month in the Neonatal Intensive care Unit until they got stronger and gained more weight. These twins seem to have a unique bond already. When they’re being fed they move closer to each other and when they were laying on the floor the moved closer to each other. The Monoamniotic Monochorionic twins are doing good. They are living life like normal twin babies after birth. All the risks and problems are gone.
