The town of Milton has decided to make a town civil rights memorial. Many candidates have been looking for a position here, but truly only one leader deserves this opportunity. That is Rosa Parks. Many would agree that Rosa Parks should be the first person to be memorialized in Miltons’ Civil Rights Park. She deserves this because she was a great leader, she invigorated the civil rights movement, a very altruistic person from participating in marches, to sit in’s for hours to prove a point.

The first reason why Rosa Parks deserves this is because she was the greatest and most influential leader. She had integrity and courage to stand up for what she knew was right. A great example of Rosa's leadership was on a bus. She got off from a long day at work and wanted to sit down, but since African Americans didn’t always get to sit when a white man entered and found no seats she was forced to get up. She denied and was sent to jail. Later released she started the Montgomery bus boycott, which was a great deal for African Americans. After becoming the mother of civil rights Rosa wanted to continue to change the world for the better. She participated in the March on Washington, March to Selma, and famous sit-ins to prove a point. She did all of this to not better herself and her fame but to make everyone equal and feel better about the world they live in. She also joined the NAACP to help this. She said, “I wanted an end to segregation and laws that mistreated African Americans.” She was such a selfless person and was willing to do anything to help others. This is why Rosa Parks deserves to get the memorial in Milton park, because she’s a very artistic
