Save the penny! The penny is something most people use almost everyday. The penny is a coin, I feel the U.S. should continue minting. The penny is made of copper and it is the second smallest coin in the U.S. currency. The penny has a value of 1 cent on the dollar and Abraham Lincoln's face is on one side of the penny while on the other side is the Lincoln Memorial. The penny has influenced us through its history and the ways it is used for charity. The penny is very helpful or useful when it is used for charity and school activities. The penny helps out with many charities to help raise money for people in need. Some sources suggest that many people don’t mind giving a penny to charity, because they think they don’t need it (Source 3). got rid of the penny the government would have to use the rounding system. This system might cause prices to go down which would be better for the people like us. When they use the rounding system according to source 1 “retailers in the real world might raise prices more than lower them”. It would be a good thing to have the prices go down if the penny was gone and we could save our money on other things that we need. But, getting a rid of the penny it could also cause inflation and many people probably don’t want the prices to rise. Also, there are a lot of things that will rise if the penny was gone. Many or some people don’t like the prices on some items we have today and we may have to pay more on things such as taxes. An example from source one is “ a $2.01 cup of coffee should be rounded down to $2, while $2.03 should become $2.05. This shows that the prices, the taxes, and etc will change and it my take a while for people across the U.S. to get used to the new chance. So, even though some things my go down and that would be good for the people, but many prices will probably
