Seaworld. It may seem like the perfect fun and exciting family vacation, but what your might want to rethink the word “fun”. While you are laughing and having fun watching the whales with your family think about the imprisoned whales performing show after show for thousands of people everyday who once used to be wild and now have been captured from their family and homes to put in captivity for public enjoyment. The show started off like every other day until Tilikum, the killer whale, grabbed his trainer Dawna Brancheau by the hair and violently attacked her. After the violent attack “the autopsy determined that Dawna Brancheau died of blunt force trauma to the head, neck, and torso, Tilikum broke his trainers jaw, fractured part of her vertebra, dislocated one of her elbows along with her knee as he tossed her around the pool” ( ). Tilikum was so violent with Dawna that part of her scalp was forcibly torn off her head. This wasn’t the first person Tilikum has killed, in 1991 Keltie Byrne (Burn) Tili’s former trainer slipped and fell in a pool with three whales and Tilikum grabbed her by the feet and the whales started to “play” with her, Keltie drowned to death, in 1999 a homeless man named Daniel Dukes snuck into to park, stripped down from his clothes and jumped into the pool, the man appeared to have been drowned, and in 2010 he grabbed his former trainer Dawna by the hair and thrashed her around the pool until she died. Who is to blame for Brancheau’s death?
