The thought of a self-driving car has recently within the last few years nudged its way into news headlines. Many have only ever thought of self-driving cars as a dream and not a reliable way of transportation. I however feel that this a major step in our society and will only develop more and more technologies to make it become a practical vehicle for transportation. As a kid I grew up in a family of two daughters and divorced parents. My father had no son to teach his trade to so I the youngest daughter had to step in. My father and I had always loved to build little projects and go on weekend trips in his 1970 Chevelle to search for cool new cars or even classic oldies. What are some possible concerns with the self-driving car? There are obvious safety factors that need to be considered when developing this kind of technology and the ultimate goal should be to make these cars safer than a person operating it manually so I’m curious to know if there are concerns that go along with the safety factor. Also the economy might be a concern I need to research on in regards to jobs and business related to gas and upkeep. Should we be using self-driving cars? This question proposes a thought of is this better for our society or should we not even try to integrate this technology into our everyday life. Again this can be both related to safety and the economy. Lastly what different technologies go into creating this kind of automobile? The article I have read on google cars stated that some of the technologies that will be needed in a fully autonomous car have already been introduced to cars on the market now but I want to learn what other parts to this technology are needed to make it one collaborative
