Sexting is an art, sparked to ignite and encourage sexual liberation and allow for sexual intimacy through digital means. According to Human Sexuality: Diversity in Contemporary America, “Sexting [is] the creating, sharing, and forwarding of sexually suggestive text and nude or nearly nude images,” (12) and as all art, sexting faces scrutiny; Particularly from individuals with staunchly conservative tastes. In result of this commonly negative association with sexting a taboo air manifests around utilization of digital technology to meet carnal needs. Sexting, albeit controversial, certainly has a healthy place in society just as many other avenues of sexual activity. Over the expanse of human history, sex maintains a critical and complex component of the human experience due to innate biological desires. Understanding of the biological drive as well as the emotional avenues of sexual activity, it is only sensical humans would employ the rapidly advancing technology to adapt it in a way that broadens societies ability to explore sexuality.
