Stem cells have the characteristics that make them apt for therapy for a snowballing number of diseases and disorders. First, stem cells have the ability to generate more cells of the same kind. Secondly, stem cells can develop into specialized cells that are suitable to implement a particular function, such as in the skin, muscle or bone.
