The Vietnam war is a controversial war, one of the most devastating wars in the history of the United States. This is the only war that the United States has ever lost. North and South Vietnam were in a war over communism and the United States went to go help the South Vietnamese Fight the North in The Gulf Of Tonkin. It was a very hard war for the United States to fight because the United States couldn't use all their power. It would not have looked good for the United States to bomb North Vietnam because it would have made America look bad in addition it would have caused mass destruction. So the United States used napalm to clear out villages, in addition to agent orange to clear out the forestry. The Vietcong had underground tunnels along with housing that they stayed in, the Vietcong only came out of the tunnels to ambush South Vietnam and the United States. United States being over there in South Vietnam fighting are not doing us any good at all. We are just hurting are army by fighting other countries war. United States lost over 58,000 soldiers which is another reason so many people think negative of the Vietnam war was because of how many people died. The Tools they used in Vietnam war killed thousands of people, such as napalm. Napalm latex from rubber and gel gasoline this consumption would shoot farther, burn longer and stick all over anything it touched. Napalm killed thousands of innocent children that were in the houses it would burn them to death. Agent Orange is another chemical that was used in the Vietnam war, it was a chemical that was dumped out of airplanes onto forest cover. Agent orange would kill all forest cover it touched which cause deforestation and harmed a lot of Vietnam's food
