Everyone has a show that they talk about with their friends nonstop. Even the people who don’t watch TV much are caught up in talking about a popular show and have to find a way to watch it. One of these shows is The Walking Dead on AMC. It is based off of the comic book written by Robert Kirkman under the same name. The first episode aired on TV on October 31, 2010, Halloween. The series follows Rick Grimes, a small town sheriff waking up after being in a coma to find that everyone has deserted the town, leaving only a trail of destruction. Dead bodies, wrecked cars, and abandoned houses are all that’s left behind. Rick eventually finds people who will soon become important characters themselves, and finds his family. Everything and anything that could go wrong, does. I was 11 when the show came out, and actually only started watching it this year so that I could binge watch it and understand what’s going on without having to wait a whole week. But enough of the plot. Why do people enjoy The Walking Dead so much? Sometimes, the show seems very grotesque. The makeup on the zombies and the humans look very realistic. While things like makeup and how zombies have skin that actually flies off or is scrapped off are tiny details, they subconsciously make us feel like the show is the greatest thing of all time. The show includes different kinds of element. Horror, being the main genre point, is followed by suspense, thriller, action, romance, and more. All of these different genres appeal to a lot of different people and what they consider to be a good show. The Walking Dead appeals to nearly everyone in one way or another. Even in the first couple of seasons when the team behind the show was trying to decide what the viewers wanted and looked for in their
