The Atomic Bombs of WWII The United States of America broke the laws of war, murdered thousands of Japanese citizens, and injured many more when they dropped atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the country of Japan. The Japanese attack of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 was a violent, evil act of war against our country, perpetrated by the Japanese military. However, civilians going about their daily lives shouldn't have had to die in our act of retaliation, at the same time Japanese Americans were being placed in internment camps in the “land of the free”. Many sources say that we could have simply shown Japan the deadly atomic bomb, and they would have surrendered, or that the Pacific powerhouse was planning to throw the white flag, even without knowledge of the bomb.
