Dane Kutnick is in right field , Tanner Smith at first, and Jason VanDenLangenberg is catching. We have played 3 tournaments together, but we already looked like we have been playing together for a long time. We may not have known it yet, but they were going to turn one of the best plays of the year. We are going into the bottom of the 6th inning.
On the afternoon of August 9, 2014 an African-American male by the name of Michael Brown was fatally shot to death by a Caucasian male police officer named Darren Wilson in Ferguson, MO. An investigation was immediately launched through the collection of evidence from the crime scene, multiple autopsies of Michael Brown’s body, and interviews with witnesses. For several months following the shooting and after the Grand Jury adjourned, there was immense public speculation and scrutiny over whether Officer Wilson justifiably shot in self-defense or in racially motivated cold blooded murder. This event produced protests, riots, and national media coverage. The two conflicting sides of the story were that Michael Brown was shot in the back with
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.
In sunny California there is a town called Yutter. The dearth of water has caused the soil to be very dry and infertile and so the farmers cannot grow crops, impacting the economy in Yutter, changing it for the worst. The town of Yutter has a deal with the farmers and the water supply company for the town so that they can have more water than other citizens per square acre of land, in order to keep the new seeds alive before they shrivel up and the plants die. Paul Jump, Yutter’s main farmer, much to his chagrin, asked the mayor at the town meeting for water, saying “I can grow food for my pigs with the money I made off of my crops if I have two thousand more gallons a week!” The mayor ignores his request and the audience of the meeting starts to become obstreperous as they walk up to Paul Jump with screams of invective.
Hope Solo, a superior goalie in the women 's soccer league. Many look up to her as a role model, an international icon and now an athlete being accused of domestic violence. In america domestic violence is a problem that is currently being addressed on some of the biggest stages we have to offer. Athletes being icons to not only the media but citizens all around the world every action they take is displayed everywhere. On June 21st, 2014 Hope solo was arrested on two accounts of domestic violence.
This is a tenth of a second more than a softball pitcher; giving a baseball pitcher over 25% more time to react! Since there is a smaller distance between bases in softball, the fielders have less time to react to a hit ball and complete the play. The collegiate softball players run from home to first in a time of about 2.7 seconds. The average collegiate baseball player runs to first in 4.4 seconds.
In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?
Softball. My favorite sport. It’s not a contact sport so, the chances of me injuring another player are slim to none. Or so i thought….. I was in Traverse City last year with my team for a softball tournament.

“The Problem of Evil” is simply the question, why does God allow evil to happen? God is omnipotent, omniscient, all-loving, and rational, therefore why does evil exist? There is either no God or he is not what we think he is, since evil could be prevented by him with no risk. Atheists and anti-theodicist see a problem with the idea that God could prevent evil. They believe that because God is so powerful and perfect, that he would not allow such immoral actions to be done.
I had just knocked in two RBI (run batted in). From the chalked-up dirt to the fresh cut grass, a softball field is always a place I love to be. No matter where I am in life I can always rely on softball to make me feel better. I started this physical activity in 5th grade. I found out that I love the sport and was exceptional at it.
America, a country made up of people of many different ethnicities, should have diverse cultures. However, the reality of American society is different. Instead of integrating the many cultures of the people, the Anglo-American culture acts as the sole dominant culture, and thus considered as the “common culture” by most. It is the culture that a lot of Americans live by. Henry Louis Gates Jr. thinks this should change, and this could be achieved if the people understand and tolerate each other’s differing culture.
Is Higher Education Worth It? Nowadays a lot of people argue whether a higher education is still worth it or not. They think that not everyone needs an extra four-year of learning to get an extra title. Many people still believe that higher education is useless. Moreover, to obtain a higher level of education, it takes lots of money.
