This means that the biases and prejudices affect our society’s belief and influence the determination of who is sentenced to death. However, considered statistical evidence that racial bias towards the death penalty is a significant factor, there are people that still believe that is not a racial bias. When someone is sentenced to death penalty, the process can spend eight or more years on death row before completion. If the convicted person is found guilty of murder, they can be given the death penalty. In addition, in some cases, if the murderer admitted that he/she killed the victim, the murderer will directly be given the death penalty. For example, a person who committed the crime of murder for multiple deaths, extreme violence, exposes people to booms or fire, poisoning many people, or killed law enforcement can be a candidate for the death penalty because someone has to die. It does not matter what kind of race he/she is (Wells).
The death penalty is considered when a person took another’s, or many other people life. Again, it does not matter what race the person who committed the crime is. Yes, the right to life exists, but the right to take away any life does not. The Declaration of independence of the United States says, “Governments are instituted among men to secure these rights,” (Grabowski, 68). Because of the fact, there are no specific punishments for different races. Everyone has the same rights under the constitution.
