The Olympics was founded in 776 BC. It would be another 1,500 years before the Games would rise again, largely thanks to the efforts of Baron Pierre de Coubertin (1863-1937) of France. Football is a great sport .People love to play it. The Olympics should add it. If they add it countries will start to join. Lots of countries play it organized or not. Sports are fun to play, and people should be able to represent their country. It is a sport that people love and should be added to the Olympics. American Football was given provisional recognition Tuesday by the International Olympic Committee.
A vote on American football becoming a full-fledged Olympic sport could take place as early as 2017, according to the USA Football youth development program. If approved, football would join the Summer Olympic sports lineup for the 2024 games at a site not yet determined.
IOC acknowledgment is significant in helping the growth of American football globally. IFAF already has 64-member countries from six continents playing three types of men’s and women’s football – tackle, flag and beach.
