The death penalty should be used nationally in America. It has the potenetial to help America in its current economic condition, and help with the fear culture in todays present society, & has little to no cons. In today society there is a economic system in place that has many out of work or people struggling to make ends meat to supply for their family. Many of wich could greatly benefit from the help of the government with situations such as food, medical aid, housing, and schoolarships to schools to be provided education so they can be more of an adiqeit and beneficial useful member of our society, but with this same system people who have commited some of the most hanous crimes imaginable to our society receive free food, housing, clothing, …show more content…

One of these issues is how it effects societies beliefes and morals. In todays society religions rules such as: “thou shall not kill” which causes problems for some that believe that life is sacerate. Though with this if someone is put to death its most likely for murder which is a sin. Also there is a major moral concern that the wrong person will be held responsible for a crime they didn’t commit. Being sentenced to an irreversible punishment, but the error rate in felony cases is only .5% (Bohm, R. M. & Haley, K. N., 2014). Some people consider the death penalty a violation of the eighth amendment. The eighth amendment protects everyone from excessive bail and more importantly protecting from cruel and unusual punishment, but if this is really a violation of the eighth amendment is arguable. Many people believe being sentenced to life in jail is just as or even more cruel as being sentenced to death. Plus many courts have ruled it constitutional.
