For my shoot, I took inspiration from various magazine photoshoots that have dressed female celebrities in, typically 'male ', suits. This ideal is becoming more and more popular as society becomes more open minded, and I know some would argue that the models have no choice in what they wear, but Emma Watson wore a full suit to and event, out of her own free will. I wanted to focus on this topic because, I feel, that it doesn’t get as much consideration as it should. The media is constantly creating articles of men focused make up lines, and Jaden smith wearing skirts etc which is absolutely wonderful, and I fully support all this admiration and focus that that subject is getting, but we should also address the suit issue. Women in suits should be as normal as men in suits, but somehow its used as a provocative statement and is almost taboo to wear out in the real world. …show more content…
I wanted to keep the feel of the shoot as smart casual, so I didn’t style her hair that much. I pinned the front parts of her hair behind her head, so you could see more of her face, in case her hair was to fall into her eyes when she changed poses. I pinned up several pieces of A2 paper on the wall, and some on the floor, to act as a backdrop as it was quick and convenient, and worked well in the shoot, in my opinion. I placed a small stool in front of the backdrop and told my model how to pose. I did have a much taller stool as well, and I used it as a way that the camera could be directly in front of the models face, so I didn’t have to strain to take the photos and so the photos weren 't motion
