After doing research on the Second Amendment I am still leaning towards both sides of this yes i do believe it’s a good idea to have a gun for your own protection and then i am aware of the risks of people obtaining weapons. Now a days you don 't know what to expect and if you will ever encounter a situation where a gun would be needed. Police officers can’t be everywhere at all times many lives could be saved if people had protection in their
George Mason, the co-author of the Second Amendment to the Constitution once stated, “I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” Freedom from slavery is the reason many people came to this country, and the right to bear arms is a fundamental part of this freedom. Gun control is a type of slavery that many people do not recognize.
Open carryment should be legal for all the people because they need to protect themselves from the other shooter near them so open carryment is helpful for other people .”Open carry advocates seek to normalize the carrying of firearms in public places and often use open carrying to protest what they see as unjust state firearms laws. While members of the open carry movement argue that they are just “exercising their rights,” The open carrying of firearms intimidates the public, wastes law enforcement resources, and creates opportunities for injury and death due to the accidental or intentional use of firearms”.(open carry summary). Open carrying poses particular challenges for law enforcement officers who must respond to 911 calls from concerned citizens about people carrying guns in public, carrying a gun in public aint harmful but it can be if they look suspicious but other than that people shouldn 't worry about a shooting in the public. Open carry advocates create a
Having a concealed handgun could save someone's life in the event that they are in harms way before police assistance
While a man from the NRA, Brian Calabrese, said self-defense is used in various ways, the thought of a panicked person with a gun during a crime is not beneficial. From my perspective, I don’t want to live in a society where the at any point in time, I should be ready to shoot a gun. The arms race which Kelly Sampson was talking about, also made me think about how different society would be if the arms race ensued. Most of society would have to adapt to the norm of owning a gun, which would force the criminals to get stronger and higher capacity firearms. In this hypothetical society, I believe there would be a much higher death and crime rate.
Not only that, Law enforcement are trained to use guns and protect the people in the United States. If they are train to serve and protect, then
Gun control is in the forefront of the national new stemming from the mass shootings at schools and public places across the United States. Concerns have been raised both by the public and our nation’s government about gun violence and creating more strict legislation. One of the measures looked at is the use of smart technologies to make guns safer. This call for smart technologies to be incorporated into firearms has a lack of consensus on both sides of the gun control issue making smart technologies a slowly researched and developed area. For this reason, smart gun technologies should not be incorporated into gun control legislation.
A weapon in the wrongs hands is the maximum danger humanity can face. Nowadays, violence and delinquency in society are viewed as the maximum problem solver. Humanity is full of chaos; hate and envy seize our souls. Guns are the ultimate security for some citizens but for others, these add to a feeling of defenselessness. Throughout history, any topic related to guns means a plethora of problems.
Gun control has been a heated debate for several decades, recently, the discussion surrounding this matter has intensified. The argument seems to be divided into liberal and conservative views, thoughts, and values. A majority of liberals desire stricter gun laws, required mental health check-ups, and longer waiting periods when it comes to purchasing a gun. However, the general census among the Republicans is less governmental interference because they feel that there is already too much governmental control involved. The Republican Party often does not want stricter gun laws because the problem at hand is not the gun itself, but the individual wielding the gun.
Looking at the issue of gun rights, I am a firm believer that this right should strictly be a state issue. There are various factors that can play a great role in the culture of each state. Things such as population density, geography, morality, childhood, political status, and religion impact states and the way they function. If each state shared the same law related to gun rights, it would ultimately defeat the goal of allowing each state to create laws based on their culture, and would most likely become a federal law, limiting the right of some. Being born and raised in Wyoming, I see no issues with all citizens having the right to bear arms.
Gun laws This topic brings conflicts among us people in the United States. It’s been an issue for awhile now and it’s going to be an issue on into the future. Some people feel like it is their right to bear arms and have a deadly weapon for protection.
Gun Control Lately people have been using guns in a negative way and causing a bad effect on the world. People have been using guns inapropriatly and have been performing mass killings. If guns are being used by people then the people using them should know how to use them correctly, or not being a crazy lunatic. When I was 12 I was playing with a pistol and accidentally shot it, I wasn’t hurt and no one else was hurt but somebody could have been injured badly. Gun laws are the cause to a lot of the violent crimes in the united states and laws need to be changed so people can’t purchase guns as easily that way we aren’t in as much trouble.
Gun Control On February 14, 2018 seventeen innocent people were shot and killed at a school in Parkland Florida. The shooter being over the age of eighteen, legally purchased the gun that caused this massacre, back in February of 2017. The federal law states, anyone with a clean criminal record over the age of eighteen can legally purchase a gun. This brings people to wonder, is our gun control enough?
Gun Control Gun control has become a polarizing and controversial issue around the globe. There have been many reported issues of mass shootings both in schools and in the public, making it a hot button issue. Proponents argue that, if the government strictly controls the ownership of guns, such tragedies can be prevented. Most Americans have an obsession with guns because the law allows them to do so. Therefore, they are always ready to scoff at anyone trying to control gun ownership.
While those in favor of gun control work hard to push their agenda, it is clear that America has far more citizens who favor gun rights over gun control. In order to get what they want, control supporters are going to need to get a big jump on gun supporters for house seats. Some of the control supporters have even begun to turn their head and give up on their arguments. The ones who were once completely against guns, have now begun to say that “there is a time and place for everything” (Elliot and Frizell, The New Politics of Gun Control). The motto in New Hampshire is “Live Free or Die”.
