In today’s society there’s many race arose “Black Lives Matter.” There is many cases where there has been “Police Brutality.” There has been more effect on the black community and I believe people focus too much on race and not enough on how to better the police enforcement. Police officers should be trained and displaced. We can’t label all police officers as bad ones and all black men as criminals.
Vox’s news article clams that its happened again that a white police officer of unnecessary shooting killed a black man and was founded not guilty by court. Protests has erupted in St. Louise because of this verdict. Jason Stockley shot and killed Anthony Lamar Smith after an alleged drug deal, he claimed he was afraid Smith was reaching into his car to crab a gun. Although, prosecutors argued that Stockley had planted the gun to justify the killing. Prosecutors claimed they heard Stockley saying he was going to kill Smith on the police dashboard camera video but, Stockley’s defense insisted that he never said this and it is hard to make out in the video.

Ever since the death Michael Brown in August 2014, the world has become much more aware of police brutality. However, research demonstrates that often times men of color are treated harshly which leads to negative perceptions of police officers. Police brutality is a crime that is has been surfacing in the news recently. Some people are just starting to realize that these injustices against the black community really occur, while others are well aware. The recent shootings, different run-ins with officers being filmed while doing such harmful actions against African American men is an example of police brutality and, that reminds us that as a society work needs to be done to improve police and community relations. A black male cannot even walk down the street on a cold night because he might be a suspect from something or he may be of danger to the people around.

The injustices of blacks reached a peak in the 1900s as a fight for equality and civil rights fueled deeper. Blacks were free from slavery but still weren’t seen as equals in American culture. The law is intended to protect it citizens but in that time blacks had no favor with the law and police. The same issues of inequality before the law and social acceptance have ignited a the modern day push for rights and fair treatment.
