Animal Abuse
There was a story of a man who kicked a cat and now it is being decided whether this man should go to jail or not. He obviously should. Three reasons that support this is how bad it is, how it leads to human abuse, and that animals are not humans. Hurting animals is bad. "The recent actions of Andre Robinson, a 22-year-old man living in Brooklyn, have captured the attention of animal rights activists nationwide. Robinson admitted to kicking a cat, filming the cruel act, and uploading the violent video to Facebook."(mainstream) think about how bad it is to hurt another human being, it is very clearly horrible. Now think to yourself about animals. Is it OK to hurt animals? This is another story that may help. "in Texas this year, a man received five years after offering to guide a wayward pet donkey home, then dragging the donkey behind his truck. The donkey, which was found in a ditch, survived." This donkey now will never trust humans again. In the future animals won't trust humans for anything, there will be no pets, no zoos, and no farms. It makes sense that someone who is crazy will start with animal abuse, to see if they like it or not, then they move on to people. Plus it is just plain abhorrent. Assemblywoman Linda B. Rosenthal of the Upper West Side, who has backed several bills strengthening animal cruelty laws. "Now, it's a mainstream concern."(mainstream) This an assemblywoman is a woman who is in the legislative branch of government. She has heard of lots of cases and presumably knows a lot about life because of her experience. Even she disagrees with animal abuse.
