Asian Organized crime represents a rather small portion of the overall Organized Crime within the United States. These groups seldom make the news and are not generally thought of when referencing organized crime groups within the United States. Movies tend to portray them as a large and powerful organization, particularly in Southern California cities and New York Cites China Town, but like most things from Hollywood this is also drastically over embellished. While Asian Organized Criminal Organizations have been less successful than the once were, notably the 1980s and 1990s, they still contribute to crime in the United States. Their small numbers and relatively low contribution to crime rates outside of the Asian communities provide for minimal public outrage. With greater emphasis on managing human trafficking in recent times Asian Organized Crime may become increasingly scrutinized. Curtailing Asian Organized Crime will consist of very similar course of action as dealing with Human Trafficking. Increasing the severity of punishment for Human Traffickers, to include registration as sex criminals, will help to reduce the willingness of some to participate in the trafficking of humans. Gaining an increase in trust for the Police, within the Asian community, so that victims of Asian Organized Crime feel able to report crimes committed against them would be another valuable curtailment plan in the fight against Asian Organized Crime. In the grand scope of Organized Crime in America, Asian Organized Crime is a small portion of the pie. Asian criminal organization have the potential to expand greatly in the coming years with the drug trade from Asia becoming more lucrative. One of the most promising areas for Asian Organized Crime to expand is via the internet, to include use of the Dark Web. It is however doubtful that Asian Organized Crime will ever gain large amounts of power within the criminal underworld. The most likely course that Asian Organized Crime will be one of steady progress in their current ventures while preying on their own Asian communities primarily within the Human Trafficking, gambling, and home invasion
