Parents always want the best for their children. They want their children to succeed in life, and success is mainly rooted from schooling. With many schooling options from private schools to home schooling, kids can obtain a better quality education than they would from a traditional public school. However, not all parents can afford the tuition on their own, so that’s why Donald Trump has made a proposition that he sees fit: government-funded school vouchers. It’s a simple concept that financially aids parents with tuition and teaching materials, which ultimately opens more doors for schooling options. While this idea sounds prosperous, it can actually cause more harm than good. The voucher idea should not follow through because there’s no guarantee that the parents’ money will go towards a good quality alternative school that most likely has fraud allegations, public schools would be greatly harmed from their funding being revoked from them for these vouchers, and the achievement gap would ultimately widen. The students that charter schools kick out would most likely end up in public schools, which would increase class sizes and be more difficult to tutor with the school having little to no money. It would be even more difficult to accommodate special needs students that require much attention and have different learning needs, which charter schools turn find unacceptable since they find them too expensive to educate (221). It would also be more difficult for these schools to provide a quality education to the remaining students since they wouldn’t be able to afford textbooks or pay salaries to qualified teachers. With all this alone, many students would fail or even drop out, special education kids would have little to no chance of acquiring help, and therefore that would be a drastic change in the education
