Arguments Against Size Zero Models

eing a model can be seen as a high-class job, for those who were only fit and beautiful people. But not every person who wanted to become a model actually can actually qualify. Many of the standards of “beauty” in a person have become unreasonable, and instead of having realistic expectations, the general public now looks at the more popular models to be the ones who are skinny, and often times, to an unhealthy degree. Many people who go into the modeling industry can no longer eat properly, and are required to go through strenuous diet and exercise programs, just to maintain their position in that industry. And there are many valid arguments both for and against this, but overall, there's more of a balance between the two sides of the debate than many people would bring themselves to see. The industry is responsible for taking care of workers when in the workplace, and can suffer from rather dire consequences and repercussions if a specific business does not uphold the expectation to care for the employees, and give them reasonable conditions to work under. But the desire for “size zero” models has caused a few issues with that part of the business, especially when many of the “size zero” were not in good health, even before they originally became models. Many of these models came to the modeling industry already suffering from eating disorders, which was sometimes a contribution to their build, and ‘extreme thinness”. If those people did well previously, and the need for a new model had arisen, the businesses may have already obtained a certain amount of wealth and popularity, specifically from the “size zero” models. This primarily could pose to be some form of an issue because after such an event, an industry might promote that type of behavior in eating habits and such things, though not always consciously. The issue with a rise in “size zero” models is that when such a thing becomes popular, more people are more likely to develop unhealthy and improper eating habits, for the sake of having a higher chance of being scouted to become a popular model.
