There has been some research that says in terms of fuel cost, 55-mph is preferable because motorists if driving the 55-mph can reduce their fuel costs. But if you are looking at both policies in terms of obeying the laws of the road, 65-mph policy is better. Most motorist if the speed limit is 55, will not obey the traffic law. There is always that need for speed in many individual minds. Having motorists disobey the traffic laws can also result in revenue that the city or state is collecting. They believe by going faster, you will arrive at your destination
