It is said that Aristotle is credited with developing the essentials of the system of rhetoric that "thereafter served as its touchstone", influencing the development of rhetorical theory from ancient through modern times (Bizzell & Herzberg, 2000). Aristotle was born around 384 B.C. in Macedonia. He was the son of the royal doctor, and is honored today as one of the most influential people of ever. In his early years, he tutored Alexander the Great, worked with Plato and then went on to do his own work. He was founder a small school called The Lyceum.
