Once at the Stadium, nearly 7,000 people filled in the seats just to honor the American Soldier. While bringing the American flag draped coffin into the stadium, bag pipes and singers lined the way to the Cowboys star in the middle of the field where he was placed for the first part of the ceremony.
Friends are planning a private memorial to be held there sometime in the next few weeks.
One of the main ways that the characters cope with loss (death in particular.) is having rituals to respect the ones that they lost. After the loss of the Harrys mother the rest of the family goes to the cemetery on “the first Sunday of every month" and visit her grave. Harry and Keith’s “dad pulls weeds and sweeps cleans the marble". Another example of this would be how harry and "the ghost of the swamp" (who is later discovered as Johnny Barlow) visit Linda’s cross in the pierce swamp and leave small tokens such as a locket and "silver ring with sapphire glass" harry likes to "tend the daises" around Linda’s cross . These rituals help each of the characters to overcome the loss of a loved one in various ways.
Cliffie showed Kozol a part of the Children’s Park, where “people had tied stuffed bears to the branches of a tree.” (l. 36-37) Cliffie said that this is where a boy was shot in the head, so this is probably a memorial of the kid with all the stuffed animals. This is nice because they are giving remembering the boy who was shot, honoring him with the toys. Another example is Gouverneur Morris, who wrote a preamble to the United States Constitution. Gouverneur Morris is buried at St Ann’s Church along with his wife Anne, so this church could be a memorial of him and his

I have driven by the Makawao Veterans Cemetery but have never stop and paid my respects. I respect those like your friend’s grandfather and your own grandfather for serving their country in order for us to have our own freedom. I thought it was so sweet that your friend’s grandmother shared stories about the love she had for her husband. There is something I like about how the military cemeteries are mad and organize. They are so put together and nicely maintained and with the American flags these cemeteries just command respect.
People should be crying because of the great memories they have made with you and not just that the person is gone. Instead of contemplating about how you will live without that person you should be seeing it as an opportunity for that person. You should learn from your loved ones death and grow not crumple up in a ball and cry. Recollect on the individuals past and learn from the advice you may just now notice is helpful. Instead of becoming gloomy with you thoughts embrace the fact that they are gone and know that they will always be by your side and you may not know it at the particular moment.

A memorial day for me was one Friday night at a dance at Flandreau Indian Boarding School in South Dakota. I went to this Boarding School, not knowing what to expect. My father had gone to this same Boarding School many years before I had. He graduated from there and I was hoping to do the same. Me and my very good friend of mine, we had the crazy idea to go to the school together to escape the realities of our home town.
Green Acres Cemetery really surprised me with all of the different types of memorials they had there. While most of the grave markers were traditional-looking headstones, there were also several giant and elaborate memorials. There was one memorial in particular towards the back of the cemetery that had a concrete divider around the whole plot and it contained a whole family. There was a very large memorial in a tombstone shape at the head of the plot that had a picture of the husband, wife, and daughter-who was holding her puppy, and one single date of death for all three of them engraved into it. The memorial had steps coming down from it, and a bench attached as well and all appeared to be made out

Field Trip Assignment When considering the entities involved with death and dying, the first place that came to my mind was the funeral home. When someone in your life passes away, you likely find yourself at the funeral home or at least becoming aware of funeral arrangements soon after the death. This is the route I went with and decided to visit Reigle Funeral Home for my field trip assignment. The Reigle location that I traveled to was on Pierson Road in Flushing, Michigan.
Society has changed throughout the course of time. A few years ago, society considered the elderly one of the most respected figures and for some it still is. Someone we could go to if we needed to be heard and/or request advice. Nowadays, society has become more individualistic and has lost the ability to care for the elderly. Getting old corresponds to a vulnerable part of human life.
