Arguably one of the best authors to exist, Arthur Conan Doyle altered his dream of becoming a master in the field of medicine to striving to form in to a legend in literature. Born on May 22, 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Arthur Conan Doyle was part of a wealthy family. His father and uncle were both artists, and while his grandfather; John Doyle was a political caricaturist. This was an extravagant fortune for Arthur Conan Doyle because he was surrounded by family members whom excelled in both their creativity and depth of imagination. Furthermore, he loved to read, even as a hobby to fulfill his own pleasures and desires. In 1869 in northern England, he attended the Hodder School where the Jesuit priests educated and nourished his mind. After, he went to the Jesuit college of Stonyhurst in 1871 where he had the reputation of telling lots of entertaining stories to his classmates and teachers, where most became greatly impressed in his ability in literature. In the year of 1875, he was enrolled in a school in Austria for one year, where he later founded the Feldkirch newspaper. This is listed as his first premier work where it became published to the public communities near his school. One year later, Arthur studied and practiced medicine back at his hometown, Edinburgh. Further in his pursue of a medical career, Arthur became a ship’s doctor in the Boer War, which he wrote many of his experiences from. Returning from his job as a ship’s doctor, he found a job as a physician and surgeon. He began writing frequently to supplement his incomes. As a result of his first marriage, he started writing full-time to pay off his omnipresent financial burdens.
