Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a British physician, who later dedicated his life to writing. Arthur became one of the most popular authors of all time. Doyle’s involvement as an adolescent allowed him to recognize many paths in life, to which provoked him as a famous creator. On May 22, 1859, in Edinburgh, England, Arthur was born. His father, Charles, was a moderately famous Victorian artist, who had a chronic addiction to alcohol. Mary Doyle, Arthur’s mother, was a fluent storyteller. Arthur started writing simply as a way to pay bills. In 1886, Arthur Doyle was struggling to make it as an author. He started with his mystery novel, “A Tangled Skein.” After two years, the story was renamed to “A Study in Scarlet” and was published in “Beeton’s Christmas Annual.” “A Study in Scarlet” was his first piece to introduce the mastermind detective of Sherlock Holmes. Doyle modeled the mannerisms of Holmes off of his professor at Edinburgh College, Dr. Joseph Bell. Sherlock Holmes proved to be the greatest model creation in the history of literature. Arthur was forever restless of his financial predicament. Luckily, Sherlock rewarded Doyle with the recognition he deserved. The prolific writer published fifty-six short stories and four tales related to Sherlock Holmes. Two of his most successful works include “The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes” and “The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes.” The readers of Doyle’s works admired the uncanny ways of Sherlock Holmes, to the point where they believed Holmes was an actual human. Arthur plotted the life of Sherlock Holmes to plunge in Reichenbach Falls. His decision left his audience in outrage, forcing him to resurrect Holmes into his stories.
