Every student from an early age has the message that they must go to college drilled into their heads. Although college can have a negative financial connotation, the reward over time can be more fulfilling. A college diploma can give one the flexibility of where they would like to work and give them the opportunity of having a higher salary than those without a diploma.
“Colleges Prepare People for Life” by Freeman Hrabowski relays that young adults can further their education and reach their fullest potential with the help of financial transparency. Often times, students think they are limited to high school because they believe they can’t afford a higher education. Hrabowski wants schools to be pellucid with their financial aid. Counseling students and families to help with financial aid will open their eyes to the opportunities that they can afford and that suit that student the best. If higher education takes the initiative to help school systems with college preparatory, then a students path to college will be less challenging and actually achievable.
