Speech and language disorders are one of the most common developmental difficulties in boys and girls. There are two different types of language and speech difficulties; primary and secondary which both can overlap. Both are in need of interventions or therapy since they both share very similar things. The scholarly article Speech Therapy Interventions for Children by James Law, Jane Dennis, and Jenna Charlton will highlight the positives of speech and language therapy. Within this article it uses ethos and logos to argue that children with speech and language difficulties need speech therapy sessions to help them through everyday life. It was clear that they are a credible source for information on this topic. In the abstract it says “This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review...” then it lists out all of its objectives. This lets the audience know that the article is reliable and credible to provide information and use the article for other projects. The authors who wrote this article all have backgrounds in speech and language therapy which makes them qualified and reliable to write about this topic. Also by adding citations throughout the article and at the end shows that these authors that the information they are providing are credible and they are not making up the …show more content…

Also in the description of the sessions it says “…that are specifically designed to promote speech or language development or to remove barriers to participation in society…” This shows audience that the sessions aren’t only to help the children in school or for the parents to help understand them better but, also to help them be able to be a part of society. Other facts that I found interesting in this section is that the authors gave two types of example of sessions, which would be direct and indirect. This allows the audience to understand that there aren’t just one on one sessions but, there are other options to help the children with these impairments
