Artifact 3: Where is God Calling Me? Reflection
Section 1: Call Narratives Scriptural: I am choosing the Bible character Moses. The story of Moses being called by God is a very unique one and goes as follows. After killing an Egyptian enslaver for torturing an Israelite slave, Moses flees from Egypt to Midian. He does this because he is scared that he will be punished by Pharaoh because of his actions. Afterwards, while tending to a herd, Moses sees a bush that is burning, but not consumed in flames, at mount Horeb in a small cave. He goes to check it out and it turns out to be God. When God speaks to Moses He commands him to lead Israel out of Egypt. The first step God told Moses to do was speak to the Pharaoh about peacefully letting the Israelites free. God tells this to Moses to see if the Pharaoh will go with a peaceful option of releasing them. Moses declines at first because he is scared that he won’t be able to do it correctly. This shows how he is slightly distrustful in God. But God reassures him that he will be all fine, and even offers to help him …show more content…

When God called Moses, he was willing to help out but was held back because of his inability to speak concisely. He didn't think that he could convince the Pharaoh to free Israel because of himself. But that wasn't the only issue Moses had. There was also another layer to this, where Moses thought that the people and Pharaoh wouldn't believe that God appeared to him. Now, in response to both of these refutes, God offered very good ways to help Moses like giving him signs of God or offering to be with him while he speaks. But Moses was still very skeptical which showed a distrust with God. And even though Moses eventually talked to God personally for 40 days, these moments still show how Moses wasn't perfect and had to work on trusting
