Interact and share: The SMART board is an interactive product. This allows the students the opportunity to share and participate in the instructional process. Making it so that the students can implement what they have learned through various activities and presentations that can be made on the SMART board. The students can interact with the SMART board by drawing, touching, solving, and writing on the large screen. The SMART board can also be connected to multiple tablets and computers. For a classroom size of 20 to 50 students, this would be good because there would not be an overwhelming amount of data that needs to be analyzed. It removes the need for handwritten notes as everything is done virtually. The professor can use the system to make additions to their work, moving information around for the best order, removing unnecessary information to create a very streamlined presentation. Using the SMART board allows for easy application of new ideas, topics, and information that the professor deems essential to the lesson. With the increased amount of time that the professors save on making the actual lecture more streamlined, the professor will have the ability to add more interactive lessons into part of their schedule. This will allow the students to be able to take a more active role in their learning experience. Leads to Results: The SMART board has shown an improvement in overall quality of learning and the increased performance of the classrooms that use it. In 2009 there was a study conducted on a program teaching construction application. They wanted to see what would happen if the SMART board was introduced into the classroom and how engaging the students through the SMART board would affect student results.
