Artificial intelligence has taken a considerable place in nowadays life. Artificial intelligence was not meant to replace human intelligence but rather to improve it through machines and software applications. Although humans are able to do most of the things they need, the means of artificial intelligence might be useful.
An expert system is a system that inherits the characteristics or abilities of a human expert. It was originally developed in order to solve complex problems and help in decision making. The main goal of implementing an expert system is to ease into our daily activities.

• They can effectively use pathophysiologic reasoning.
• They can even capture the complexities created by several disease states that interact and overlap
• They have a greater capacity to quickly narrow the number of diagnostic possibilities.
Some disadvantages of using expert system are:
• They cost a lot of money to develop them.
• They cover a little range of knowledge.
• They lack creative problem solving approach.
• Human has to constantly maintain it and give it feedback for its development.
