Summary
America’s business majors are in critical need of a liberal-arts education, according to the Atlantic. Students all around the globe are going for a business degree for a fast track to an entry-level job. What they are considering is the historical long-term plan. Businesses are looking for a person who has educated oversee in all aspects like a broader spectrum in humanities, engineering, sciences, and social science. While business majors are having an easier time finding a job right out of college, they are potentially missing out on some of the economics skills and experience that they will need in the longevity of their career. According to Rachel Reiser, “Businesses want workers who have “the ability to think, the ability to write, the ability to understand the cultural or historical context of whatever business decision they’re making.” (Applelbaum, 2016).

Sometimes, when taking business classes, many students learn some of the basic skills needed to work in their field; as accounting, finance and economics are all valuable skills set; however, these students may be missing the opportunity to writing and critical thinking skills that can benefit them exponentially over the course of their careers.
