As You Like It starts off with Sir Rowland de Bois’ death and has left his oldest son, Oliver to take care of his brother, Orlando. On the other hand, Duke Senior who lives in the Forest of Arden with his noblemen was banished and by his brother, Duke Frederick. However, Duke Senior’s daughter, Rosalind has been allowed to remain at court with Frederick’s daughter, Celia since they have a inseparable friendship, but Frederick becomes displeased with her and she gets banished. However, Macbeth played the role of the assassinate and the people of Scotland believed him. In As You Like It, it shows humour in which some people might enjoy rather than violence. However, violence is what makes people intrigued in reading more to see what happens. In As You Like It, it shows humour “The more pity, that fools may not speak wisely what wise men do foolishly (Shakespeare, 86-87).” Humour is not as interesting as violence in Macbeth. Violence reels the reader in wanting more, while humour is not as intriguing. In Macbeth, it shows a bloodthirsty tale of ambition, and the evils to get what he wants. Macbeth shows that violence can help you get places. For example, by killing King Duncan, Macbeth was able to win the title of King of Scotland. As You Like It shows how humour is also irrelevant to the play, “By my knavery (if I had it), then I were. But if you swear by that that is not, you are not forsworn. No more was this knight swearing by his honor, for he never had any; or if he had, he had sworn it away before ever he saw those pancakes or that mustard (Shakespeare, 61-65).” Although Touchstone is supposed to make people laugh, he adds statements of pancakes and mustard that does not relate or have connection with the play. This adds confusion to the play, while in Macbeth, courage is often shown through many characters. For example, when Macbeth is showed in the beginning, he is being praised for his efforts in defeating the Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth shows his courageousness by overcoming his personal matters to plot the death of the king. Lastly, As You Like It showed how a brother could banish another brother out of the court, “There's no news at the court, sir, but the old news.
