You might as well say goodbye to the Ash Tree species all together! Some might ask, “Why?” or, “What are you talking about?” Not many people know about the bug that is making us kiss our Ash Trees goodbye forever. I know you might have a lot of questions. Hold tight and I will try to clear them up! First, I’d like to state some facts. This bug, the Emerald Ash Borer, has killed more than twenty-five million trees already. That’s not all because they’re killing more! In fact, about twenty million a year! This bug also loves to add more stress to the already stressed out trees by attacking those who are weaker. Healthy trees should watch out too, even though the Emerald Ash Borer prefers weaker ones. You might be thinking, “These facts are great in all, but how can I tell if these pests have infested my trees?” Well, if there is a zig-zagged looking line that starts small and slowly increases in diameter, you have a larva gallery. Once they grow into adults, they feed on the Ash Trees leaves. Once the tree dies, the birds will peck and the squirrels and any other animals scratch their way into the trees to feed on the larvae. This leaves to holes in the bark and pieces of bark almost torn all the way
