Asperger's syndrome is a disability that one shall be very weary of. The novel “The curious incident of the dog in the night-time” my Mark Haddon expresses the struggles of a young 15 year old boy named Christopher John Francis Boone’s life wishing to become a detective just like his role model Sherlock Holmes as Mark Haddon says “Christopher decides that he will track down the real killer and turns to his favorite fictional character, the impeccably logical Sherlock Holmes”. Although this might be difficult as Christopher is living with a disability called Asperger's syndrome. This is really bad because being a detective requires patience as well as co-operation to others when it comes to crime and mysteries. On page 11-12 Christopher says “I find people confusing. This is for 2 main reasons.” The first main reason is because people do a lot of talking without using any words.” which could affect him negatively in many ways because detectives require a partner to associate with and in detective shows, detectives use a lot of hand motions or sign language to communicate with their partner in crime. Christopher then says his second main reason “The second main reason is that people often talk using metaphors.” which is not really that bad but in some cases the detective may come across a riddle of some sort and Christopher might not be able to understand the riddle as he cannot understand metaphors due to Asperger's Syndrome, which may result in a failure on the crime case. On page 6, Christopher says that “He was asking too much questions and he was asking them too quickly. They were stacking up in my head like loaves in the factory where Uncle Terry works.” When it comes to detective work, questions have a HUGE role in the facility. Since christopher cannot handle situations like this, that will have a very negative affect when it comes to being a detective. They get asked questions on the daily and most of the time detectives have to ask questions to themselves in
