Assassin’s Creed II: Historical Compare & Contrast
Although not the most historically accurate, Assassin’s Creed II clearly features characters, places, and events that are based off of real life things. Now, obviously there isn’t a real person named Desmond Miles or a piece of technology called the Animus that lets him view the memories of his deceased ancestors. Still, there are plenty of elements in place that, when explored further, show that the creators wanted to produce a game that gets its players really interested in the history behind it.

In the game, the townspeople try to burn him at the stake, but instead Ezio takes his life before the flames have a chance to consume him.
Conclusion
Clearly not everything in Assassin’s Creed II is completely accurate, however, the game definitely portrays some historical characters, real life locations, and historical events quite well.
To me, these things definitely attribute to the successful story that the game portrays. Who doesn’t like hearing a character’s name that you recognize from history class? I know that I personally gave a cheer of joy when Leonardo da Vinci’s name was thrown at me. There may have been many things featured in the game that have gone over players heads. However, in putting these things in the game they have laid the groundwork for their players; now a player hears someone like Caterina Sforza’s name, they’ll think back to the game and already have a decent idea of the kind of person that she was. It’s important for games to do things like this

because history is not always interesting to people, it’s sad but it’s true. If games like this can make it interesting for us to learn, it really will help people become more engaged in
