Introduction
Organisms experience different interactions including positive interactions where organisms benefit one other, negative interactions involving harmful effects on organisms involved, and neutral interactions which ultimately have no effect on coexisting organisms. These negative interactions are observed in this specific study to determine the effects of intraspecific and interspecific competition on the plant species of oats. Intraspecific competition is competition between members of a single species and interspecific competition is competition between members of different species. Markedly, competition of plant species may occur over resources such as food, light, and space and it is shown to overall have effects on community structure that are positive for some and negative for others (Goldberg & Barton 1992). The community composition is directly impacted by species interactions that determines abundance of each individual species.
