As the Superintendent of the Program, Marcia is facing difficult circumstances revolving around two main issues. The first issue is developing a method to engage the leadership team in a manner that is still in line with the organization’s mission, values, and goals. While understanding that the board is jam-packed and a vast number of issues take place in a school system, part of being a leader is having the confidence to urge the team on important issues. The team needs to be on the same page with the possibility of future consequences that come with the problem. Collaborating with teachers and leadership to implement a Board for Improvement Plans and overall student goal-centered. Finally, this meeting would allow the math teachers to unite to bring forth new goals that should be addressed at the next board meeting. Additionally, what needs to take place is acknowledgment at all levels from the school system that the program needs improvement and funding. Marcia will continue to work with the Director of Education to ensure consistent meetings occur, and the team is actively responsible for researching methods for improvement and finding additional funding. In conclusion, Marcia has an opportunity to stimulate the leadership team by managing and presenting methods, resources, and positivity that prove to be winning when it comes to increasing student learning.
