Assignment 7: Coordination, Monitoring, and Termination Issues When it comes to case management, there are several skills needed to carry out what is expected and needed by the client. There are some case management skills that are learned through life experiences and there are most that are developed and learned through formal training. In addition to addressing the skill sets, it’s essential for the case manager to practice certain values and morals that will benefit the therapeutic relationship. Some people decides to move on with their lives without case management, while it’s the case manager responsible to insure the client to assortment skills; to help the client separate or end successfully from the relationship. Furthermore, reasons a case manager may terminate a case are, there is an agreement between the client and case manager that it’s time for the client to move on; meaning the treatment of service has been a success and is no longer needed, or the client feels their issues have been solved and are no longer an effect to their life. Another reason to terminate a case, is due to the death of the client. If the client dies, their case will automatically be closed. Also, if the client experiences financially problems and aren’t able to fund to the services, this could result in a termination. However, it’s important for the case manager to seek other alternatives of support for the client. It’s important to reflect on any accomplishes that client has made, and make note and review how far the client has come and what all goals was accomplished. For the clients that has requested termination for themselves, the case manager should ask question to get more reasoning to why they chose to terminate their services; and, be open and supportive of their reasoning for change or any questions they may have. It’s important for the client to receive resources of information they will be able to use to help them continue their progress toward their goals and to avoid having a relapsed of their issues. Also, sometimes, some clients may feel they are being let go for a reason that’s not really understood. This could cause the client to remote in a down and depressive mode. Therefore, it’s important the client get re-assured that they are always welcome to return to services if
