1. Task 1. What are citations and references? (100 words)

In a research study, it is important to insert in appropriate citations and referencing to provide validity to the arguments. However, citations and referencing are not the same thing. Citations refer to the specific material source mentioned in the body of the conducted research. The citations could be applied depending upon the research styles like Harvard, APA, and MLA (Schubert, 2013). A citation must cover the basic parameters of the author name, publication year, page number or range. While references, on the other hand, imply the list of references that has been used and is accessible to the readers of the work (Flick, 2015). The source deals in the legalised of assisted dying. It is an article documented by the Ilora Finlay, a professor at the Palliative medical centre at the University of Cardiff. This article will provide an insightful perspective on the study topic. It provides statistical support and documentation of the arguments provided and has helped the author in authenticating the validity of the material. The author has mainly drawn upon the secondary source materials in drafting the article and it could be effectively used as a reliable source of research. The source could be used as a web link (Mackey & Gass, 2015). The source will prove useful to the scholars writing in favour of the assisted death legitimacy. It really provides a strong an insightful opinion that legitimisation of the assisted would help in relieving the pain of the terminally ill or the hopeless people.
