Should you let anyone or any animal go through pain only to die in the end anyway? This question is hard for many people to answer or even think about. Choosing to end another person's life can be justifiable if you are taking someone out of painful existence. Killing another is justifiable act in certain situations such as Capital Punishment and Euthanasia, also in the case of George and Lennie.

In the case of Capital Punishment killing another for the crime of murder is the right thing to do. The article “ California's New law”states “ Nearly 70 percent of deaths end in hospitals, nursing homes” ( John C. Goodman) also the article stated “ you will become bedridden” (John C. Goodman) The evidence that was found is important because, it tells us that when you are dying you can't do anything you basically rot like a couch potato. Also, when you die it will most likely be in a hospital, so we might as well end the pain and go through with Assisted Suicide. The article supports, “ one common objection to these laws is that patients who request an earlier death may simply be depressed. In chapter 7 Lennie and Curley's wife were talking and Lennie wanted to touch Curley's wife hair when Curley's Wife said “ feel right aroun’ there an’ see how soft it is” ( John Steinbeck) When Lennie started stroking her hair he started stroking harder which scared her to were Lennie got scared too and held on tighter then freaked Curleys wife out more and killed her eventually. The evidence that was found shows that Lennie could not handle soft things or at least when they are alive. Lennie also was way stronger then what he looks like and when he got scared it all happened so fast that he killed her on accident. When George found out about Lennie killing Curleys wife he had to do something. Slim told George “ you hadda George. I swear you hadda. Come on with me”. ( John Steinbeck) The reason why George had to kill Lennie was because, Lennie was dangerous and George didnt want no more to danger to happen to anyone or anything
