The guardian of health, it is what I think of athletic trainer. During clinical study in college, I accompanied athletes been through recovery processes, educated athletes methods to keep themselves from injuries, and experienced the greatest excitement with athletes when they achieved their incredible accomplishment. Attracted by every piece of this meaningful profession, I have chosen it as my career.
My acquaintance with athletic training was in high school when I got a rotator cuff strain by playing baseball. While seeing numerous time of doctor, it had never fully recovered. As a desire to return to activity, I looped up the Internet and found an athletic training website that introduced basic rehabilitation notions. I followed the rehabilitation plan and eventually able to throw a baseball again. Fascinated by the value of this meaningful profession, I chose it as my college major.
My undergraduate education has equipped well the knowledge of athletic training. Practicing evidence-based medicine is essential for the athletic trainer. In studying athletic training, I have learned how to integrate external clinical evidence from systematic research, analyze the complex movement and the pathology of injuries and develop effective rehabilitation plans. Through rotating clinical setting in my college sports teams, explored to various types of sports teams, I obtained the understanding of sports specific injuries and techniques (drills?).
