After 11 weeks of working in the lavines I am transferred to work in the infirmary. I attend to the sick patients and try to cure them with the little resources we have. I have no experience in the medical field at all, I’ve decided it is my job to keep spirits up or to help people die in peace. Not many people who walk into the infirmary walk out again, as I stated before there were many selections and the weak simply aren 't strong enough to get well. I’ve seen every injury you could possibly imagine from the common killer, Typhus, to internal mutilation from the experiments.
With this opportunity, this would challenge my academic journey as I would be able to apply skills that I have learned from former labs and use them for my future experiments and discoveries. As a person who has dreamed of making an impact in the medical field, being able to gain the opportunity to gain research without worrying about the financial burden would be astonishing. I am very eager to develop my research skills, contribute to future projects, and collaborate with my faculty mentors, which will be significant as I grow in the research field. I hope to not only gain from these developments, but also strengthen my pathway to strengthening pediatric healthcare. My dedication to academic and professional growth has been reflected throughout my previous coursework and extracurricular
I was most engaged in this course when I was doing the research for this paper. Filtering through all the research and figuring out what is valuable information was the most exciting part for me. Additionally, finding information and connecting it to a suspect is the most satisfying part of my job. Writing the actual research paper has been the second most engaging thing during this course. It is difficult for me because I know I am not a great writer, but there are improvements in my writing since starting college.
The National Honor Society organization functions as a symbol of excellence and brilliance of Egg Harbor Township High School. As a committed and goal-oriented individual with more energy than a billion watts, I know that being a member of your well-respected organization would allow me the opportunity to help my community, school, character development and scholastic abilities, and most notably, mutually benefit National Honor Society to the best of my ability. After high school, I plan to attain a degree in pre-medicine, as I have always had a rewinding image in my mind of becoming a doctor. I plan on going to medical school to advance in my studies, towards my career.
The Morehead Honors Program opens many doors for the receivers. Several magnificent programs and internships are offered to students that are part of this wonderful program; these include an internship in Frankfort, an intensive summer research program for students interested in medicine or dentistry, a commitment to host a show on the campus television station for a year, and a year-long volunteering experience working with children in after-school programs. Honestly, the volunteering experience in after-school programs for children interests me enormously. Along with building onto my existing skills, I will develop new skills, grow as a person due to the experience, and face my fears and anxieties. I believe I would thoroughly enjoy that
ENG 4A03 - Reflection on A Short History of Progress In Ronald Wright's book, "A Short History of Progress", he talks about many historical examples of "progress traps". He describes the term "progress trap" as an idea or technology that generates splendid results at first, but leads to a deadly, impossible end [1]. In other terms, a "progress trap" is a problem that inadvertently creates conditions that are worse than what existed prior to the innovation.
I felt devastated as I wrote an email to the program director saying that I wanted nothing more than to participate but I did not have the monetary means to finance my voyage. At the beginning of my junior year, I applied for another cultural exchange program with the eager desire of broadening my horizons, but I again lacked the financial means to fund my participation. Now that I have found a program that is in alignment with my current academic interests and my long-term career goals, I am determined to find the funding that will make my participation
As evident from the topic of my Final Project, Obedience vs Disobedience, my research paper is based on a true story of my personal narrative. Being raised in a joint Muslim family system, where excessive importance is given to respect parents and grandparents and submit to their wishes. I decided to challenge my father’s authority in selecting a major of my undergraduate study of my own choice. I resisted his authority with great zeal and made him realized that he is wrong in forcing me to go against my own wishes. But once I found him helpless and falling apart, I submitted to his authority not because of his fear but for being there for me and my family throughout his life 2.
I dream of becoming a leader in the medical profession. In speaking with alumni and current faculty, I discovered that Rutgers has an outstanding reputation for providing academic excellence, and would provide a good match for my career goals. This university will provide a continuance of the solid foundation program which I have excelled in at Central Jersey College Prep Charter School. Your long history of preparing future doctors supports a proud legacy of successful and engaged alumni. I am interested in your 7-8 year program which involves research and transformative learning through hands-on evidence-based care and instruction.
Two activities that I have enjoyed very much during this year’s Summer Bridge, are trying the Breakout EDU with Mr. Ochoa and building a rocket with Mr. Tobias. I think these two lessons have been fun because they include hands on and teamwork. The Breakout was interesting because it allows me and my classmates to work together and try to solve puzzles. It helps me think outside of the box and stay calm and try not to force stuff to work the way I want them to. The rocket building was also to my interest because it allowed me to create something out of normal reach.
This course displayed how relationships in the business of distribution actually work. This paper will cover what I learned from this course, how that knowledge was implemented in the group project, how my experience from this course will affect my career, and how important manufacturer distributor relationships are. There are many things I learned this semester, but a few stood out more than others. First, good business starts with strategic relationships. The customer and manufacturer relationships must be of high quality.
am aspiring to study medicine and become a paediatrician. Participating in the program would allow me to explore my other options and help me decide which aspect of science I would like to further develop on later in my career. It will be an opportunity for me to boarded and develop my skills, as well as widen my knowledge. Being exposed to working with experts and in professional lab would allow me to challenge myself as a scientist, solve problems and prove that I can adapt and think beyond the capacity of my age. Furthermore it would help me break my social limitation, as both of my parents are uneducated and to many people like them, science has little importance, especially if you are girl.
Reflecting on the proper application of APA citation in my work is always well needed. Like most, in grammar school we utilized MLA format and then transitioned into APA style in undergraduate studies. Being transparent this was a shift that discouraged me from writing. I would dread the part of having to cite others work, as much as I hated the requirement to use their work as if I had no thoughts of my own. This negative relationship I had did not decrease the assignments nor did the rules change.
Knowing how pressured students can get in college regarding selecting the “perfect” major, I enjoyed Focus 2 and believe that the results are extremely accurate. The answers that I received after doing the assessments were exceptionally close to what I thought of myself and what I wanted to do career–wise. Using Focus 2 was satisfying and I believe it can be an extremely useful tool for young adults who are still unsure about their future. For the first test, I got an outcome of being a helper, an organizer, and creator.
For my final project I will be doing my work over one of the islands state park called the Iao Valley State Monument. I will be talking about what was my inspiration for my work, three goals of the course that ties with this project and also how is connects with the material we went over. Since this is one of the most popular state parks on the island I thought it would be perfect for this project. The beauty and scenery of mother natures valley is what inspired me to my project over this park. One things I miss the most about home is it’s beauty.
